Mike Powell, Associate Pastor/Minister of Education, was born September 17, 1952. Mike was saved on a Wednesday night in October of 1963 at Highland Park Baptist Church. Mike came on staff in August 2010. His ministry involves leading Sunday School and Discipleship programs, working with homebound and Senior Adult Ministry, and assisting in pastoral duties. Mike’s family includes his wife, Katherine, daughter, Susan, daughter Kristie Tyson and her husband, Alex, and their child James, Leah and Dahlia. Outside of church, Mike enjoys hanging with Kathy, playing music, camping and watching people. A motto that drives Mike in his life is “Live your life serving God in such a way that if you should ever be falsely accused, nobody who knows you would believe it.”
